and then choose for their deck to be based on burst or shift summons.
Those are two new kinds of summons I'm making up..here are the details...
Catalysts are a new archetype of spells/traps, and they work just like any other kind of spell/trap....except once they are properly resolved in the grave, you can return them from the deck to the grave to " catalyze " all face-up monsters you control.
Both Shift monsters and Burst monsters need catalyzed monsters as materials.
( NOTE: Catlayzed monsters cannot declare an attack, and cannot be used for a tribute summon, and cannot be special summoned for the remainder of the duel...this is because the catalyst turns the monsters into raw chemical energy )
Burst Monster
They have a vector, not a level: the vector is one circle with a number in it ranging from 1 to 144.
To burst summon, send ( the correct number of )catalyzed monsters you control whose levels multiply together to equal the level of the burst.
Special summon the burst monster.
Shift Monster
The have a level, and list 1 specific material.
Their level is always identical to the selected monster's.
To shift summon, have a catalyzed monster who is listed on the card, who has done the specific action the shift monster required... this can be anywhere form being normal summoned to being flipped summon, from being special summoned back form being banished...it all depends on what the shift monster says.
